GPS Navigation systems: What's the best option?

Hiya, I'm in a nice position at the moment, as someone wants to buy me a GPS navigation system, and they've asked me to choose the best one available regardless of the price. But I'm having a problem deciding! Grrr!

OK, I've talked to the folks at Humanware, and yes the Victor Trecker does sound impressive, but it's a lot of money for a bit of software running on a converted PDA! I was always under the impression that the Trecker was a purpose-built all-in-one unit, but apparently it isn't. They still expect you to pay for upgrades as well. Oh dear! Sounds like another Freedom Scientific scam to me!

So now I'm looking at the mobile phone option, Wayfinder. Apparently this doesn't offer anything like as much detailed information as the Trecker system. Does anyone know if that's true, or just Humanware desperately trying to sell their own product? I know that you have to have Talkx or Mobile Speak in order to use Wayfinder, but has anyone out there had experience of both systems? And could you please give a summary of the advantages and disadvantages of both products?

Many thanks,

Matt

if you have a braillenote, get the gps package from sendero. it might be in more that one piece, but it works very well.
